Urban Decay 24/7 glide-on pencil liners

Wanna hear about my favourite liners? 'Cause I wanna tell you about them! Last year I discovered the Urban Decay 24/7 liners and my liner game was forever changed for the better. They dry quickly and do not budge (trust me, I am the queen of the oily lids). There are 40 colours to check out on an everyday basis, plus, they come out with special edition sets & colours from time to time (ahem...holidays!).

I personally like to pick up little sets of minis in different colours. While I wear liner almost everyday, I find that the pigmentation of these pencils are so fantastic that it doesn't take very much. Thus I don't really need full-sized liners. If you are looking for one solid full-sized pencil, they are $24.00 CAD each and the absolute best black is Perversion.

Here are some of my favourites from a set that came out last year, as well as some from a set that just came out for the holidays this year (Black Magic, $47.00 CAD - includes 8 different colours that are available all year round).

Last year's colours included Riot (Purple) , Ink( Navy), Desperation (Gray), Apathy (Olive), West (Brown) & Black Market (Black).

This year's set's colours are Tornado & Black Market (Purple & Black), Smoke & Black Velvet (Gray & Black), LSD & Perversion (Navy w/ Turquoise glitter & Black) and Demolition & Zero (Brown & Black). 8 beautiful colours just in time for the holiday season!

Are you interested in checking out these products? They are available on the Sephora website, as well as the Urban Decay website! What colours are your favourites? Let me know!

Kait

Sunday Funday | Bath & pampering

Every Sunday evening, my husband scurries off to his favourite extra-curricular (is it still called that if you're not in school?) activity & I have myself a pamper.  Here are the things I used tonight:

Lord of Misrule Bath Bomb (Lush) This is a holiday bath bomb that begins as a pretty green colour, but quickly swirls out a raspberry colour. The result? A spicy, delicious smelling mulled wine coloured bath!

Glamglow Face Mask I always pick out a face mask for the bath & this week's pick was the Glamglow Youthmud mask. The one I have is the mini version, not the full-sized pot. I don't get struck on masks very often & like to change them up, so mini is the way to go (this one got me about 5 full-faced masks).

Tea Tree Water Toner (Lush) Always, this toner finds its way into my routine. It is a rare day that I change up my toner.

Maracuja Oil (Tarte) I occasionally use this in place of my usual night moisturizer. I put a few drops on my fingers & rub it in wherever my face gets dry - my nose and around the sides of my mouth especially. I wake up with the softest, most moisturized skin ever. A perfect way to begin a new work week!

What are your favourite things to do on Sunday evening? Let me know!

Cheers,
Kait

Lest We Forget

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Lush | Christmas Goodies

I can never resist the call of Lush at Christmas time (even though Christmas is still weeks away). Here are the goodies I picked up. Some of them are repeats from last year, some are brand new & one is my absolute favourite Lush product of all time, ever.

New! Yog Nog - Soy yogurt soap that smells like Christmas goodies

Bath goodies both new & old

Father Christmas - Bath Bomb with a fun surprise middle

New! Holly Golightly - Bubble bar big enough for 3-4 baths

Christmas Eve - Bubble bar. Lavender bubbles for a relaxing evening (or 2)

Luxury Lush Pud - Bath bomb. Not new, but a different colour than last year's

Starlight, Starbright - Bath melt that smells like citrus & glitters like that night sky

New! Butterbear - Bath bomb. The christmassy version of butterball

Lord of Misrule - Bath bomb. Spicy & boozy.

Rose Jam - Shower gel & my personal favourite

I also bought a So White bath bomb, which smells like delicious apples, but it got pretty bumped up in transit, so I couldn't take a picture of it out of it's packaging. In addition, because I ordered right before the Halloween treats disappeared, I scored a couple of those sparkler bath bombs (in the first picture).

My all time favourite Christmas treat?  Rose Jam!
Product I'm most excited to use? Yog Nog soap & Father Christmas bath bomb

See anything tempting? I love Lush at Christmas time, what about you?

Cheers,
Kait

Lush | My favorite face duo

I literally use these two products everyday & my skin is so so sad when I run out. Also, I live 3 hours from the closest Lush store, so I have to plan ahead & order online, or I'm out of luck.

My containers are a little grimy - it is the grime of my love for these items :)

I wash my face with Angels on Bare Skin ($13.95/100g) every single morning in the shower. I use it in the shower because it looks like ^ that.  If you've never seen AOBS before, it is a clay texture face wash that you break off a tiny piece of & mush it up in your hand with water before rubbing it on your face. It's scrubby, but not too abrasive, so it's perfect for everyday use.  It has lavender & almond & all kinds of delicious skin goodies to balance out any kind of oily/dry/in-between skin.  It's pretty much one of those « everyone can get away with using this » cleansers. I LOVE IT!

To top off this clumpy, green, weird cleanser, I use some Tea Tree Water ($9.95/100ml) as my daily toner. I actually use this twice a day, even though I use a different cleanser at night. This toner smells like - you guessed it - tea tree oil. It's in this handy dandy spray bottle that you can just spritz on your face which is a refreshing feeling, especially in the summer.

I've tried other, similar, Lush products (Dark Angels, Bûche de Noël, Breath of Fresh Air...) & no individual product or combination has made my skin quite as happy as this, so no matter how much I wander, I always end up back with these two in my daily routine.

Do you have a favorite face product? One you can't seem to get away from? Let me know!

Kait

Holiday Collection | Tarte Bon Voyage Set

I recently ordered the Tarte Holiday set from Sephora & have had a couple of weeks to check out all of the products. This set is $71.00 on the Canadian site and claims to be valued at $508.00 (it might only be 59.00 USD)

The products all come in this cute little  purple and gold travel makeup bag with tassels on the zippers.

The set includes this wonderful eye shadow palette with 20 full-sized eye shadows.  They all have adorable «Parisian» or French puns as names (such as Fall in Louvre, Merci you later & I think I Cannes). What can I say, I'm a sucker for neutrals with punny names.  The palette has the same purple & gold pattern as the travel case.  To me, this set was entirely worth the price just for this palette - it's amazing.

The set also includes: A deluxe sized lights, cameras, lashes mascara, a cheek stain in the colour Muse (a pinky-neutral), a finishing powder, a LipSurgence lip tint in the colour Romantic (super pretty) & a LipSurgence lip gloss in Visionary.

There is also a mini Maracuja Oil. This is fantastic to use at night after washing your face. It soaks in & has virtually no scent.

My general opinion of the set is that it is pretty good. Everything that has colour to it (shadows, lip products and cheek stain) go together very nicely & are really nice for the holiday/winter season.

I love the eye shadows - they are creamy, pigmented & super easy to use. The lip products & the cheek stain I like less. If you aren't careful, the lipgloss can be kinda clumpy/gloopy/I'm not sure what I'm describing here. The cheek stain is a super pretty colour, but it interacts less well with certain foundations, so I have to be careful when I wear it.

My faves are the Maracuja oil, the mascara & the eye shadows - I have used these three pieces every single day since receiving the set.

What sets are you loving? Anything else I should consider testing out this holiday season? Let me know :)

Cheers,
Kait
